Rico 1998 gelding by the very influential stallion Calvados who himself competed successfully on the international circuit for many years. He is out of a mare by Fedor. Fedor is still actively competing in the open jumpers. His mother line is the very influential Karla mother line which has produced among others Mr. Blue. Rico was imported from Holland in 2005 and has been jumping in the 1.3m (4'3") ever since. He is a big strong horse who is always fast and extremely forgiving about distances always jumping and never stops. He has competed at many 'A' rated shows including Spruce Meadows, Northlands, Thunderbird and Oregon in the 1.30m and has done several 1.40m (4'6") classes including a Talent Squad Qualifier at True North. He has won several speed classes including a 1.30m Speed Derby. He jumps all natural fences including grobs, ditches, banks and open water. Rico would make a perfect horse for a serious jumper rider who is not afraid to go fast and wants to have fun in the bigger classes. He will make moving up easy for a good rider. Rico is not suited for a beginner rider as he loves to jump and can get strong to the fences. He is super fun to show as he always gives you confidence and the feeling that he will try anything. He jumps in the same form over every fence, knees up and tight and with good use of his hind end.
